About Jason

Jason Pensky trained on the East Coast and moved into practice equipped for courtroom work. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Hofstra University in 1998 and took his law degree at Pace Law School, graduating in 2002. He entered the legal profession after law school and built his practice in Florida.

His early years in the profession are marked by steady involvement in the state bar and local defense circles. He holds current membership in the Florida Bar Association and belongs to the Miami chapter of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Those memberships have kept him connected to trial lawyers and to continuing legal education in the region.

Pensky clustered his practice around criminal defense. Over time he helped establish Pensky & Kim, where he practices alongside colleagues handling a spectrum of criminal matters. His work at the firm involves representing clients in court hearings, arraignments, pretrial proceedings and trials. He spends time preparing cases for trial and negotiating resolutions when clients choose that path.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation. He is known for detailed file review and careful attention to discovery. That approach bears out in written motions and courtroom presentations. He has experience litigating procedural and evidentiary issues and presenting argument in front of judges in Florida courts.

Professional involvement remains part of his work life. His current memberships in the Florida Bar Association and the local chapter of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers reflect ongoing engagement with the criminal defense community. That engagement includes attending seminars, participating in study groups and sharing practical insights with fellow practitioners.

Outside the courtroom, Pensky has focused on building a practice that balances contested litigation with negotiated resolutions. He and his colleagues at Pensky & Kim manage caseloads that require both immediate tactical responses and longer-term strategy. Clients come to the firm for representation in state and, at times, federal proceedings handled from their Florida base.

He maintains an active presence in the Florida legal community and continues to accept clients through Pensky & Kim. His current practice focus is criminal defense in Florida.
