About Jason
Jason Dunkle built a practical path from law school classrooms to running his own firm. He earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2001 after completing a bachelor’s degree in political science at Pennsylvania State University in 1997. Those academic years framed an interest in courtroom work and legal research that shaped his early career.
After graduating, Dunkle remained connected to the academic side of law. In 2003 he worked as a research assistant to Professor William Luneburg at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. The position exposed him to scholarly analysis and the close reading of appellate decisions. A year later he entered private practice as an associate at Masorti & Sullivan, P.C., where he handled a range of trial and motion work for clients in state proceedings.
Over time Dunkle moved into roles with greater responsibility. In 2011 he became a shareholder at D & H Law Group, P.C., taking on both casework and firm management duties. The following year he opened JD Law, P.C., where he is listed as owner. Running a small firm has required him to balance client representation, administrative work and the steady demands of courtroom practice.
Outside the office he has stayed engaged with professional organizations. He has served on an executive board since 2017. He has also contributed as a guest lecturer for the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2009, speaking to peers about topics that draw on his courtroom experience. Those engagements reflect an interest in sharing practical knowledge and participating in the local legal community.
Dunkle is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. His experience spans trial representation, pretrial motions and client counselling in state matters. Colleagues and clients see him as a practical lawyer who emphasizes preparation and direct advocacy. He combines academic training and years of courtroom practice to handle the everyday demands of criminal defense and related state-court work.
Today he operates JD Law, P.C., representing individuals in Pennsylvania courts. He continues to lecture for professional groups while managing the caseload of his firm. He represents clients in criminal defense matters in Pennsylvania.
