About John William
John William Lhota built his legal foundation at Washington & Jefferson College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in history in 2007, and at Duquesne University School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctor in 2014. He pursued a traditional path from undergraduate study to law school, returning to central Pennsylvania to begin his professional life.
Licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, Lhota became an active member of the state’s legal community early in his career. He joined the Pennsylvania Bar Association in 2014 and the Centre County Bar Association in 2016. Those memberships reflect regular participation in local and statewide professional networks and ongoing engagement with developments in Pennsylvania law.
Lhota practices with Miller, Kistler & Campbell. He handles matters that arise under Pennsylvania law and appears in state courts and administrative forums when a case requires it. His daily work includes courtroom representation, preparation of legal documents and counseling clients on procedural and substantive issues that affect their matters in state systems.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparation and straightforward in court. He tends to break complex legal problems into discrete steps. That approach helps when cases present procedural hurdles or require careful factual development. In client meetings he favors clear explanations over legalese and practical next steps over theoretical digressions.
Outside the office, Lhota’s involvement in professional groups keeps him connected to the rhythm of practice in the region. Participation in bar association activities has exposed him to continuing legal education programs and local bar initiatives. He has also used those forums to stay current on changes in court procedures and statutory updates that affect litigators and transactional attorneys alike.
He is based in central Pennsylvania and remains available to represent individuals and businesses in state matters. He currently practices at Miller, Kistler & Campbell, handling a range of matters under Pennsylvania law.
