Jason S. Barrix is an attorney with over 32 years of experience in personal injury and criminal defense law. In 1993, he founded Barrix Law Firm, which serves clients in Grand Rapids and Grand Haven, Michigan. He then pursued higher education at Central Michigan University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science in 1988. During his undergraduate years, he interned for State Senate Majority Leader Richard Posthumus and worked working for a Michigan Congressional District. These experiences provided him with a solid foundation in political and legal matters, shaping his future career. In 1993, Jason obtained his Juris Doctor from Thomas M — Cooley Law School. While there, he clerked for the Honorable Dennis Leiber of the Kent County Circuit Court, further honing his legal skills. Admitted to the State Bar of Michigan the same year, he quickly built a robust private practice focused on personal injury and criminal defense.
Over the years, he has achieved significant settlements and trial victories, including a notable $1.25 million wrongful death settlement after a motorcyclist was tragically struck and killed by a commercial truck driver under the influence.
