About Jason
Jason Barrat built a layered academic foundation before entering the legal profession. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer and Information Science from Ohio State University in 2007. He then completed a Juris Doctor at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2011 and added a Master of Business Administration from Oakland University in 2011. The combination of technical training and business study shaped his early approach to legal issues.
After finishing law school, Barrat moved into private practice and took on roles that led to partnership. He became a partner at Zoldan Law Group PLLC in 2014. There he took on increased responsibilities, managing client matters and participating in firm decision-making. In 2022 he joined Weiler Law PLLC as a partner. That move marked the latest step in a career spent largely at boutique firms where partners handle both legal work and firm operations.
Barrat is admitted to practice in Arizona and is authorized to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Those admissions allow him to represent clients in state matters and in federal appeals across the western states covered by the Ninth Circuit. Public records do not list a bar number or the year of initial admission to the bar.
His educational background informs how he approaches cases. The technical grounding from his undergraduate degree helps when matters involve data, systems or technical documentation. The MBA contributes a business perspective on transactions, risk assessment and client counseling. Colleagues describe his style as methodical: he frames legal questions in business terms when that helps clarify options for clients.
At Weiler Law PLLC Barrat serves as a partner and participates in client representation and firm governance. He has handled a range of matters that draw on legal, business and technical elements. He also takes part in drafting pleadings, advising on procedural strategy and representing clients in filings before state and federal tribunals. He maintains at least one current professional association membership.
He currently concentrates his practice at Weiler Law PLLC on matters that intersect law, business and technology.
