Jan Trent Aune is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2005 and holds bar number 236604. Mr. Aune earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, graduating in 2004. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at California State University, San Marcos, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1996. During his time at McGeorge School of Law, he was recognized on the Dean's Honor Roll, reflecting his academic excellence.
Mr. Aune concentrates his practice in the areas of employment law, civil rights, and business law. He represents clients in matters involving wrongful termination, workplace discrimination based on protected categories such as age, disability, gender, national origin, and race, as well as harassment, retaliation, and sexual harassment. Throughout his career, Mr. Aune has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Notably, he secured a $1,550,000 jury verdict in 2024 for a whistleblower retaliation case under California Labor Code section 1102.5, which was recognized as a Top 50 Labor & Employment Jury Verdict in California for that year. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Century City for five years.
Mr. Aune is an active member of the California State Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He holds membership in the American Bar Association Section of Litigation. He is also a certified mediator through the Los Angeles County Superior Court mediation program. Mr. Aune is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Los Angeles County effectively.
