About James

James Weiler built his foundation in the classroom. He earned a B.S. in Finance, Real Estate & Urban Analysis from Ohio State University in Columbus. He went on to attend Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he received his J.D. The combination of business and legal training shaped the early arc of his career.

He gained admission to the Illinois bar in 2009 and has maintained his membership in the State Bar of Illinois since then. After several years of practice, he joined Zoldan Law Group PLLC as a partner in 2017. That role placed him in a small-firm environment where he handled complex client matters and firm management duties. In 2022 he took the next step and became a partner at Weiler Law PLLC, the firm that carries his name.

Weiler’s work has moved between two state bars. He is admitted in Illinois and Arizona, which allows him to represent clients across state lines on certain matters. His background in finance and real estate gives him a different perspective than many lawyers who arrive at the field solely from a legal studies track. That dual outlook informs how he assesses transactions, documents and risk.

Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in meetings and concise in court papers. He has experience negotiating deals, advising on title and transactional questions, and managing litigation when disputes evolve. His practice has required attention to both technical details and client priorities. He has handled negotiations and drafting, as well as the follow-through necessary when matters proceed to litigation or settlement.

Outside firm work, Weiler has remained involved in the professional bar. His long-standing membership in the State Bar of Illinois stretches back to his admission year. He participates in the professional networks typical of attorneys who spend time in both transactional work and courtroom settings. That positioning has required him to balance the administrative demands of partnership alongside client files and business development.

Clients and peers see him as an attorney who blends transactional skill with courtroom experience. He has built a practice that spans two jurisdictions and a range of client needs. He is currently a partner at Weiler Law PLLC, where he represents clients in matters related to real estate and finance while practicing in Illinois and Arizona.
