About James

James Stensel took the long view on a legal career. He arrived at law school after undergraduate work and completed his Juris Doctor at Seattle University School of Law in 2016. That diploma set the course for practice in the Pacific Northwest.

His time at Seattle University provided classroom training and exposure to practical skills. He graduated in 2016 and moved into practice soon after. Classroom experience gave way to courtroom procedure, client meetings and the everyday tasks of a practicing lawyer.

Stensel has maintained active involvement in professional circles. He holds current membership in professional associations, participating in networks that keep him informed about changing rules and case law. Those ties provide a steady link to peers and peers’ perspectives.

He is on the roster at Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson, PLLC. At the firm he works alongside colleagues on matters brought to the office. His role there involves handling assignments that arise from the firm’s caseload and serving the needs of clients who come through the door. The firm setting has shaped how he approaches problem solving and client communications.

Colleagues describe him as measured in court and careful in negotiations. He prepares documents and analysis, and he appears before administrative bodies and trial courts when matters require. He combines the research skills developed in law school with practical drafting and advocacy. That combination helps when cases demand attention to detail and steady management of deadlines.

Outside of filings and hearings, Stensel spends time keeping up with new developments in law and procedure. He attends association events and continuing legal education programs to stay current. Those activities inform his work and help him advise clients on procedural options and risk tradeoffs.

In day-to-day practice he balances client contact, case preparation and court appearances. He currently practices at Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson, PLLC, handling matters on behalf of the firm’s clients.
