About James
James Re graduated from Suffolk University Law School in 1978. He completed his legal studies at a time when the practice of law in Massachusetts was changing rapidly. The late 1970s shaped his early years in the profession and set the stage for a long career in the state.
After law school he entered practice in Massachusetts. Over the decades he has maintained a steady presence in the region, building a practice that operates out of several offices. He has kept ties to professional circles; he has held a membership in a professional association since 1981 and remains a current member. That long-term association reflects ongoing engagement with peers and the profession.
His day-to-day work has been grounded in courtroom practice and client counsel. He has represented clients in state matters and managed cases from initial intake through resolution. Colleagues describe him as thorough in preparation and measured in court. He favors a methodical approach to case development and places emphasis on understanding each client’s goals before taking action.
Over time his practice has adapted to changes in procedure and technology. He has worked through shifts in court rules and filing systems. Those adaptations have informed how he organizes cases and communicates with clients. He has also balanced responsibilities across multiple office locations, which requires attention to logistics and client access.
Re maintains offices in Boston (his main office), in Wellesley Hills, and in Rhode Island. Those offices allow him to meet clients in different settings while continuing to practice under Massachusetts jurisdiction. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and concentrates his professional activities in the state.
Outside the office he has engaged with the legal community through ongoing association membership and through regular professional contacts. He has participated in events and meetings that address practice issues and court developments. He has often drawn on experience accumulated since his entry into the bar era of the late 1970s.
As of 2026 he continues to serve clients from his Boston, Wellesley Hills and Rhode Island locations. His practice remains anchored in Massachusetts, where he handles matters for individuals and organizations and attends to the procedural and substantive demands of state practice. He currently concentrates his practice in Massachusetts and serves clients from the Boston, Wellesley Hills and Rhode Island offices.
