James Otto Heiting is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1976. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Heiting is the managing partner at Heiting & Irwin, APLC, a law firm located in Riverside, California. He has been practicing law for over 45 years, serving clients throughout California, particularly in the Inland Empire region.
Mr. Heiting earned his Juris Doctor degree from Western State University College of Law in 1975. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Western State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree. Mr. Heiting is an active member of the Riverside County Bar Association, having served as its president from 1996 to 1997. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, where he served as the Chair of the Substance Use Disorders Advisory Board. Additionally, he is a founding member of the Leo A. Deegan Inn of Court, which focuses on training less experienced members of the bar. He is also a charter member of the Inland Empire Federal Bar Association.
