About James L. Griffith
James L. Griffith Jr. earned his law degree from Widener University School of Law in 1995 after completing undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan in 1991. Those formative years set the stage for a career spent in courtrooms and conference rooms alike.
He built his practice across multiple jurisdictions. He is admitted in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and holds admissions to several federal district courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the Eastern and Western Districts of Pennsylvania, and the District of New Jersey. He also maintains appellate admissions to the Third, Sixth and Eleventh Circuits. That breadth of admission reflects a practice carried out at both trial and appellate levels.
Griffith serves as a partner at Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP. In that role he works alongside other lawyers on matters that proceed through state and federal systems. Colleagues describe his approach as methodical. He prepares filings, argues before judges, and participates in the strategic planning that precedes trial or appeal. He balances courtroom work with the written advocacy that appellate courts require.
His education and admissions have shaped how he approaches cases. The Pennsylvania and New Jersey bars, and multiple federal courts, demand familiarity with differing procedural rules and precedent. Griffith’s practice operates across those boundaries. He handles disputes that require coordination between district courts and circuit courts, and he is accustomed to moving matters from one forum to another when necessary.
Clients and opposing counsel encounter a lawyer who is comfortable in federal courthouses as well as state venues. He brings an attention to procedural detail and an emphasis on clear legal argument. His written work—briefs, motions and appellate filings—reflects the need for precise reasoning when judges decide close questions.
Outside of specific case work, he remains engaged in the practical business of running a law practice. Partnership duties include mentoring associates, participating in litigation strategy sessions, and collaborating on firm-level decisions. Those responsibilities shape how he allocates time between client work and internal firm matters.
He continues to practice at Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP, handling matters that proceed through both state and federal courts.
