About James

James Hannon graduated from the University of Miami with a B.A. in 1986 and earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1989. He moved from law school into practice in Florida and has spent his career practicing in the state. His education in Miami provided his legal foundation and ties to the local bar community.

After beginning his legal career in Florida, Hannon advanced to partnership at Hannon Legal Group. He has worked in private practice for many years and occupies a leadership role at the firm. The partner title reflects long-term involvement in case management, client advising and courtroom work.

Hannon’s professional affiliations point to recurring themes in his work. He holds memberships in the Miami-Dade Justice Association and the Dade County Bar Association, and he is active in national and state groups that address victims’ issues and civil justice. Those organizations include the National Crime Victim Bar Association, The National Center for Victims of Crime, the American Association for Justice and the Florida Justice Association. He participates in events and activities that those groups host, and he maintains connections with colleagues across the region.

Colleagues describe Hannon as a lawyer who has built a practice grounded in courtroom experience and post-trial advocacy. He has taken part in matters that require negotiation as well as contested hearings. His background suggests familiarity with litigation procedures in Florida courts and with the networks that support trial work.

Outside of formal memberships, Hannon has stayed engaged with the local legal community in Miami and broader Florida. He attends association meetings and contributes to discussions on developing issues affecting victims and plaintiffs. That engagement keeps him current on procedural changes and on evolving approaches to case preparation.

Hannon continues to practice at Hannon Legal Group, where he manages client matters and supervises litigation strategy. He handles cases brought in Florida courts and remains active in statewide and national professional organizations that address justice and victims’ concerns.
