About James Cameron

James Cameron King built his legal foundation in two Southern public universities. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2006 and completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Arkansas School of Law in 2011. Those years framed a path that moved between military service and private practice.

Early in his career he entered military service as a Judge Advocate General lawyer. Records list him as a captain in 2008. In that role he handled legal work tied to the armed services, advising commanders, assisting service members, and participating in military justice and administrative matters. The JAG post exposed him to a mix of criminal, administrative, and personnel issues that do not often appear in civilian court dockets.

After leaving active military duty he transitioned into private practice. In 2015 he became a partner at King Law Group, PLLC. That move marked a shift from government service to running a law practice. As a partner he has been involved in the management and casework responsibilities that come with leading a small firm, balancing client work with operational duties.

King’s background combines courtroom-facing work from his time in uniform with the procedural and client-service demands of a private firm. He draws on military experience when advising clients who face administrative or regulatory challenges. He also handles matters suited to a regional practice in Arkansas, where he is licensed to practice.

Outside of those headline roles, his record shows a steady progression: undergraduate degree, law degree, military legal service, then private practice leadership. That progression has given him a practical sense of how different legal systems operate and how to move a matter from initial counseling to resolution. He approaches cases with attention to procedure and a sense for institutional realities.

He maintains his practice in Arkansas and continues to represent clients through King Law Group, PLLC. His current work applies his military legal background and courtroom experience to matters that arise for individuals and organizations in Arkansas.
