About James

James Barth entered law school in 2013 and earned his J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2016. His legal education covered the standard curriculum of the mid-2010s, and he completed his degree at a time when the Midwest legal market was reshaping after the financial crisis. School records list his graduation year as 2016.

His professional career began the same year he graduated. In 2016 he joined Pfeifer, Morgan & Stesiak as a lawyer. That early entry into a firm environment gave him steady exposure to everyday practice—client intake, pleadings, and the behind-the-scenes work that keeps a busy office moving. He has maintained his association with the firm since that start date.

Bar admissions in two states shape where he practices. He is admitted to practice in Indiana and Michigan. Those admissions allow him to work on matters that cross state lines and to serve clients who have interests in both jurisdictions. The dual licensure also informs how he assesses procedural options and local court practices.

Bar work and professional associations occupy part of his calendar. He joined the Porter County Inns of Court in 2017 and took on the role of treasurer in 2018. That position has him handling routine financial oversight for the group and participating in its meetings and programs. His involvement in the Inns of Court places him alongside other local practitioners and judges for continuing legal education and professional exchange.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in his approach to casework and steady in the administrative tasks that firms require. He has worked inside a firm setting since his start in 2016, which means much of his day-to-day work is practical and procedural. He prepares filings, meets with clients, and coordinates with opposing counsel and courts in both Michigan and Indiana.

Outside of the firm and the Inns of Court, public information about additional memberships or publications is minimal. He has kept a profile that emphasizes his firm role and his local bar activity. He remains visibly involved in the Porter County legal community and attends regular meetings and events.

He now practices law at Pfeifer, Morgan & Stesiak, handling matters in both Indiana and Michigan.
