About James Anthony

James Anthony Foley took an indirect route to law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication in 1987, spent time outside the legal world, then returned to school and received his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2003. The gap between degrees gives his legal work a background in communication and practical experience outside the courtroom.

After law school Foley built a steady practice in Texas. He is admitted to practice in the state of Texas and in the Northern District of Texas federal courts. His membership in the National Association of Consumer Advocates, which he joined in 2008, places him among lawyers who handle consumer protection and related claims. He also joined the Tarrant County Bar Association in 2008 and retains that affiliation.

Colleagues describe Foley as pragmatic in case handling. He has worked on matters that require courtroom readiness and an ability to explain complex issues plainly. Over the years he has handled contested matters at state and federal levels. He has balanced trial work with case preparation and client counseling, giving him a broad perspective on litigation strategy.

Clients have encountered him in consumer-oriented disputes and in civil litigation. His long-standing membership in the National Association of Consumer Advocates suggests a sustained interest in consumer claims, and his local bar association ties reflect regular practice in Tarrant County and surrounding areas. He has maintained courtroom admissions that allow him to file and argue matters in the Northern District of Texas.

Foley’s earlier studies in mass communication inform how he approaches client work and written advocacy. That training shows up in pleadings, motion practice and client communications. He tends to write directly and to break complex legal issues into plain language. That style helps when jury instructions or contract terms need to be explained clearly.

Over two decades after completing law school, Foley continues to practice in Texas courts. He keeps active in professional groups that align with consumer law and local practice concerns. His career path combines practical communication skills and courtroom experience.

As of 2026 he practices law in Texas and maintains federal court admission in the Northern District of Texas, concentrating his work on consumer protection and related civil litigation.
