About Jaclyn
Jaclyn Nayar took an unconventional route into law. She began with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rhode Island, followed by a Master of Social Work from Columbia University. She then earned her Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law013Newark. That combination of social work and legal training shapes how she approaches cases and clients.
Her first legal position was in the judiciary. In 2011 she served as a judicial law clerk at the Superior Court of New Jersey. The clerkship gave her day-to-day exposure to courtroom procedure, legal writing and the pacing of trial courts. She moved into private practice the next year, joining D Alessandro & Cieckiewicz, P.C. as an associate in 2012.
By 2014 she was practicing under her own name, listed professionally as Jaclyn Nayar, Lawyer at Law. That listing indicates a transition to operating as a lawyer beyond the associate structure. Over the years she has maintained ties to both legal and social-work disciplines, a fact underscored by her credential from the New York State Education Department as a Licensed Master Social Worker.
Nayar is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York. She belongs to the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association. Membership in those organizations keeps her connected to developments in two neighboring jurisdictions and to a range of practice-area discussions among practitioners.
Her background combines courtroom experience, private-firm practice and a professional social-work credential. That mix can be relevant in matters where legal issues intersect with health, welfare or family services, and it informs how she evaluates client needs and case strategy. She works by appointment and maintains a mailing address for professional correspondence. She currently practices by appointment and accepts matters in both New Jersey and New York.
