About Jaclyn Denise
Jaclyn Denise Patton built her academic foundation at the University of Texas at Austin, earning a B.B.A. in 2010 with concentrations in international business and history. She stayed in Texas for law school and received her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2012. The combination of business coursework and a law degree shaped an early interest in matters that intersect finance, family and property.
After law school she moved into practice in Houston. In 2014 she established The Patton Law Office, PLLC. Since then she has handled matters that commonly arise in probate courts and in the law surrounding elder care and incapacity. She holds an Ad Litem certification from the State Bar of Texas for probate and guardianship proceedings, a credential that authorizes court appointments to represent interests of individuals in those cases.
Her work has been tied to local professional groups for much of her career. She has been a member of the Texas State Bar’s Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section since 2013 and joined the Houston Bar Association’s Probate, Trusts and Estates Section in 2014. She also serves on the Houston Bar Association’s Teach Texas Committee, where she has taken part in outreach and education projects since 2016. In addition, she is involved with lawyers who practice in the tax and probate space through membership in Lawyers in Tax and Probate beginning in 2017, and she holds membership in the Disability and Elder Law Lawyers Association.
Colleagues describe her practice as grounded and detail-oriented. She accepts court appointments as an ad litem and works on cases that require careful attention to fiduciary duties, accountings, and the practical realities families face when a loved one can no longer manage financial or personal affairs. Her practice touches on probate administration, guardianship petitions, and related trust and estate issues, and it often requires coordination with bank officers, financial advisors, and medical professionals.
Patton maintains an office under The Patton Law Office, PLLC in Houston and continues to participate in bar-section activities and committee work. She handles private client work and court-appointed matters, concentrating on probate, guardianship and estate administration in Texas. She currently focuses her practice on probate, guardianship, and estate matters.
