About Jackson
Jackson Hilliard earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida in 1994. He returned to academic study a decade later, taking his legal degree at Stetson University College of Law and graduating with a J.D. in 2003. He added an MBA in marketing from Stetson in 2004, pairing legal training with business and communications study.
His early legal career included time in public defense. In 2007 he served as an assistant public defender in the Sixth Judicial Circuit. That work put him in court frequently and into contact with a wide range of criminal matters. The courtroom exposure and client work at the public defender’s office shaped his approach to trial preparation and advocacy.
In 2012 he became owner and manager of Hilliard Law, P.L. He has overseen the practice since then, handling cases that mirror his earlier courtroom experience. As the principal of a small firm, he manages case strategy, client intake and day-to-day operations. The business side of running a practice is informed by his MBA training, which he applies to client communications and case presentation.
Memberships have tracked his work in criminal and DUI defense. He has been a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2008. He joined the National College of DUI Defense as an associate member in 2012 and remains a member. He also served a term in Kiwanis beginning in 2011 and ending in 2012, a brief period of local community involvement.
Hilliard’s background combines public-sector courtroom work and private-practice management. He has handled arraignments, motions, plea negotiations and jury trials, drawing on years of direct courtroom practice. His dual degrees in law and marketing shape how he prepares cases and communicates with juries, judges and clients.
He is licensed to practice in Florida and continues to represent clients in criminal matters. He practices criminal and DUI defense in Florida.
