About Hubert X.

Hubert X. Gilroy earned a B.S. in sociology from the University of Scranton before completing his J.D. at Dickinson School of Law in 1979. Those studies set a foundation for a long career in Pennsylvania law. He combined social science training and legal education at an early stage, an approach that informed his courtroom work and client interactions for decades.

Soon after law school he entered practice as a partner at Broujos & Gilroy in 1979. That early partnership marked the start of sustained private practice. Over the years he moved into different firm roles and shifted offices as the needs of clients and the business of law evolved. In 2007 he became a shareholder at Martson Law Offices, where he later took on broader responsibilities within firm management and casework.

Gilroy is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials reflect a steady, long-running presence in the bar rather than a single, public-facing milestone. He has worked on matters that required familiarity with state court procedure and the procedural prerequisites for admission to the nation’s highest court.

Colleagues describe his approach as practical. He balances litigation tasks with counseling responsibilities and prepares cases with an eye toward resolution, whether at negotiation or in the courtroom. Over time his practice adapted to the changing priorities of clients and the shifting landscape of Pennsylvania law. He has navigated transactional work alongside contested matters, staffing cases according to their demands and the resources available at his firms.

Outside the office he kept ties to the legal community through regular practice, courtroom appearances, and collaboration with other lawyers. He maintained a local presence, responding to client needs across the state and taking part in the daily demands of running a law practice. That steady engagement helped sustain long-term client relationships and informed his judgment on case strategy.

Today he practices from Martson Law Offices. He handles a variety of matters for clients in Pennsylvania and maintains admissions that allow him to appear in both state courts and, where appropriate, before the U.S. Supreme Court. His current practice focuses on serving clients through litigation and counsel from his office in Pennsylvania.
