About Howard
Howard Glass trained first as a psychologist and then turned to law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida in 1993 and completed his J.D. at the University of Houston a few years later, taking courses in health law, mediation and intellectual property.
He began formal mediation training immediately after law school. The University of Houston Law Center certified him in both general mediation and family-law mediation in 1998. Those credentials sit alongside his legal training and inform much of the way he practices today.
His professional life is centered in Texas. He is licensed to practice in that jurisdiction and lists his role as Lawyer & Counselor and UHLC-Certified Mediator. His background in psychology shapes how he approaches disputes, especially those that involve sensitive personal or medical issues.
Glass’s legal interests overlap. Health law and intellectual property appear on his transcript from law school, and mediation has been a continuing thread since his certification. That combination gives him particular familiarity with conflicts that require both technical knowledge and careful communication between parties.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in session and direct in written work. He often steps into matters where parties need a structured environment to resolve differences. In family settings he has the formal family-law mediation credential that many litigants and lawyers look for when selecting a neutral. In healthcare matters his coursework and experience allow him to handle disputes that touch on regulatory, privacy or consent questions.
He also maintains memberships in professional associations relevant to dispute resolution and legal practice. Those memberships keep him connected to peers and to developments in mediation practice. He draws on continuing education to keep his mediation skills current and to stay informed about changes in health and intellectual property law.
Glass combines mediation work with client counseling. He helps clients understand options outside the courtroom and assists them in structuring agreements that resolve underlying problems rather than just the litigation. He currently concentrates his practice on mediation, health law and intellectual property matters.
