About Hon. Bruno J. Tassone
Hon. Bruno J. Tassone (Ret.) built a career that moved from courtroom adjudication to private dispute resolution. He brings a quiet, pragmatic style to mediation and arbitration. Colleagues and participants describe him as steady and procedural. He listens first and frames options clearly. Those habits come from years spent on the bench and in practice before he embraced alternative dispute resolution full time.
Tassone earned his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law at Illinois Institute of Technology after completing a B.A. at DePaul University. He completed his formal legal education in Illinois and has maintained professional ties in both Illinois and Florida. His academic background combined urban legal training with a Midwestern undergraduate education, grounding him in the procedural aspects of litigation and dispute management.
He began his career in private practice and later served as a judge, a role reflected in the honorific he continues to use. That experience shaped his view of case resolution. As a jurist he managed docket pressures, evidence presentation and courtroom procedure. Those responsibilities tightened his focus on efficient decision making and on resolving factual disputes in ways that reduce uncertainty for all parties.
After leaving the bench he transitioned into alternative dispute resolution. He accepted roles that capitalized on the managerial and evaluative skills developed during his judicial tenure. Over time he has presided over mediations and arbitrations across a variety of civil matters. He is admitted to practice in both Florida and Illinois, which allows him to accept matters originating in either jurisdiction and to bring a comparative perspective on state procedure.
He serves as Of Counsel and as a mediator/arbitrator at Romanucci & Blandin. In that capacity he conducts private sessions, facilitates settlement talks and issues reasoned arbitral decisions when parties agree to binding processes. His work emphasizes clarity in process rules and careful management of hearing schedules. He is known for setting realistic timelines and for keeping parties focused on the legal and factual core of disputes.
Today Tassone maintains a practice centered on mediation and arbitration. He draws on his judicial background to help parties move toward resolution and to streamline hearings when disputes proceed to arbitration. He currently accepts ADR appointments and serves as Of Counsel at Romanucci & Blandin, where his practice centers on resolving civil disputes through mediation and arbitration.
