About Heidi Richert

Heidi Richert Clerc earned her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 2009 after completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of California, Davis in 2005. She studied during a period of change in legal education that emphasized clinical work and practical training. Those years shaped the practical approach she brings to her work.

After law school Clerc established her practice in California. She is admitted to practice in the state and has remained active in the local legal community. Her career has been built around the particular rules and procedures of California courts and agencies.

Clerc practices at Burt + Clerc. The firm provides her a base from which she manages client matters and interacts with colleagues. Her role there ties into a range of responsibilities common to small and mid-sized firms, including direct client contact, case preparation, and courtroom work when matters proceed to hearing.

Outside direct client work Clerc is involved in several professional organizations. She holds current memberships in the American Bar Association, the California State Bar, the California Young Lawyers Association and the Desert Bar Association. She is also a member of an Inns of Court chapter, which brings judges and lawyers together for education and mentorship. Clerc serves on the board of About Families, Inc., a community organization that engages with issues affecting families. Those affiliations keep her connected to changes in law and practice and create opportunities for continuing legal education and peer exchange.

Her day-to-day practice includes managing cases, advising clients on procedural steps, and preparing filings for California courts. Clerc has handled matters at different stages, from intake and negotiation to courtroom proceedings. She frequently balances written advocacy with client meetings and the logistical tasks required to move cases forward. Her professional activities combine case work with participation in local legal programming and community-oriented board service.

She maintains an active presence in California legal circles and continues to develop her practice through firm work and professional association involvement. Her current practice focuses on serving clients in California through her work at Burt + Clerc.
