About Heather

Heather Murray began her academic path studying literature. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2011. Three years later she completed her legal training, receiving a J.D. from Tulane University School of Law in 2014. Those years shaped how she reads complex documents and frames arguments. They also laid the groundwork for a practice that relies on careful analysis and clear written advocacy.

After law school, Murray moved into practice in Mississippi. She is licensed to practice in the state and holds admission to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi. She maintains an active membership in the State Bar of Mississippi. That combination of state and federal admission gives her the authority to represent clients in both courts and to handle matters that cross those jurisdictions.

Murray joined The Erlich Law Office in 2022. The firm listing identifies her as part of the office, where she has handled a range of client matters since joining. Colleagues describe her as deliberate in her preparation and attentive to procedural detail. Her background in English literature continues to influence her approach. She tends to prioritize clear written work and coherent organization of legal arguments.

Her day-to-day work involves court filings, client counseling, and case preparation. Murray appears for matters in Mississippi courts and in the Southern District of Mississippi when cases require federal practice. She takes time to explain procedural steps to clients and to prepare filings that address both factual and legal issues. On any given day she balances research, drafting, and courtroom appearances, depending on the needs of the matters on her docket.

Outside of courtrooms, Murray keeps up an active relationship with the State Bar of Mississippi. She uses that connection to stay current on changes in local rules and practice trends. As of 2026 she continues at The Erlich Law Office, representing clients in state and federal court and handling matters that arise in Mississippi and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.
