About Heather Lynn

Heather Lynn Hudson combines a scientific start and a business mindset in a legal career rooted in Texas. She earned her J.D. from Texas A&M University in 2016. Earlier degrees include an MBA in project management from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2011 and a B.S. in chemistry and physical education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 1997. Those varied studies inform how she approaches casework and client service.

After law school she joined Mysti Murphy Law Office as an associate in 2017. That role exposed her to courtroom practice and client counseling. In 2020 she opened Heather Hudson Law Office, PLLC, where she handles her own docket and manages firm operations. Running a small firm gave her day-to-day responsibility for everything from litigation strategy to administrative oversight.

Hudson has pursued specialized training in collaborative practice. She completed basic interdisciplinary training in collaborative divorce through Collaborative Divorce Texas. She is active in local and state professional groups, and her memberships include the San Antonio Bar Association, the San Antonio LGBT Bar, the State Bar of Texas LGBT Section, the Collaborative Divorce Professionals of Texas, and the San Antonio Collaborative Divorce Professionals. Those affiliations reflect professional interests and provide regular exposure to evolving practice techniques.

Her work centers on matters that commonly arise in family law. She handles collaborative divorce processes and related negotiations, and she represents clients through contested and uncontested proceedings. Hudson also draws on her business training when addressing complex financial and management issues that surface in family court. Colleagues describe her approach as practical and process-oriented; she places emphasis on planning and communication so clients understand options and likely outcomes.

Outside the office she has continued continuing legal education and local bar involvement since the mid-2010s. Her practice in San Antonio serves a mix of clients, including members of the local LGBT community, and she maintains memberships in several collaborative and family-law focused organizations. She currently concentrates her practice on family law matters, including collaborative divorce and related client services.
