About Heather Lee
Heather Lee Mayer built her path to law through a mix of classroom study and hands-on internships. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Lindenwood University in 2010, concentrating on criminal law and art. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2013.
Her early legal work came in summer and clinic settings. In 2011 she interned at the Law Office of Omar Farooq, gaining exposure to client work and case preparation. During law school she served as a criminal appellate intern at Arnold and Sichta in 2013, where she assisted with briefs and research on post-conviction and appellate matters.
After passing into practice in Florida, Mayer joined The Jean Bart Firm as an associate in 2014. There she handled a range of matters and developed courtroom and brief-writing experience. A year later she took on a leadership role by becoming an owner and lawyer at Tyson and Denson PLLC. The move put her in a position to shape case strategies and supervise client work while continuing to appear in court and on appeal.
Mayer’s record shows steady movement from internship roles into firm practice and firm management. Her work has included criminal defense and appellate projects, reflecting the topics she engaged with during law school and her early internships. She is licensed to practice in Florida and has remained based in the state throughout her career.
Colleagues describe Mayer as methodical in preparation and plainspoken in court. She balances written advocacy with oral argument, and she maintains a caseload that spans trial-level defense and appellate filings. She currently represents clients in criminal defense matters and handles appellate work at Tyson and Denson PLLC.
