Heather Bussing is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1987 and holds bar number 127556. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Bussing is the founder of Bussing Law, a law firm located in Sebastopol, California. She has been practicing law for over 38 years, serving clients throughout the state.
Ms. Bussing earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kansas School of Law, where she graduated in 1986. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of Kansas, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy in 1983. During her time at the University of Kansas, she was recognized with honors for her academic achievements.
Ms. Bussing concentrates her practice in the areas of civil rights, appeals and appellate law, and employment law. She represents individuals and organizations in matters involving workplace discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, and other employment-related issues. Her practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Bussing has handled cases in various courts, including the Superior Court of California for the County of Sonoma and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. She has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding her own firm, she worked as an attorney of counsel at Rybicki & Associates, P.C. from 2019 to 2020, where she focused on labor and employment law matters.
Ms. Bussing is an active member of the California State Bar Association. She has also been involved in various legal and civic organizations, contributing to the advancement of the legal profession and the community. Ms. Bussing is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
