About Harold

Harold Beede earned his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in 1991. While a student he spent time inside two very different parts of the federal justice system. He interned with the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Office in Providence, Rhode Island, and worked in the chambers of the Honorable Ernest C. Torres of the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island.

Those practical experiences came early in a career that has spanned both state and federal practice. He holds admission to practice in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He is also admitted to the United States Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. His membership in the Massachusetts State Bar dates to 1992 and remains active.

Colleagues describe him as steady and exacting in the courtroom. Beede’s federal admissions suggest regular work in matters that move beyond a single state. He has experience appearing in trial-level forums and in appellate settings. Over the years he has navigated procedural complexities that arise when cases cross state and federal lines, and he has handled filings and oral arguments in appellate courts.

Beede’s background in federal internships shaped his early approach to litigation and case preparation. Time in a U.S. Attorney’s Office offered exposure to prosecutorial practice and case management at the federal level. Work in a district judge’s chambers gave him an inside view of judicial decision-making and opinion drafting. Those early posts informed how he prepares evidence, frames legal questions, and structures appellate briefs.

He has maintained an active presence in the Massachusetts legal community through his long-standing bar membership. That continuity provides a network of professional contacts and familiarity with local court procedures. At the same time his admissions to the First Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court mean he can take a matter beyond state boundaries when necessary.

As of 2026 Harold Beede continues to practice law, appearing in both state and federal courts and maintaining his Massachusetts State Bar membership. He currently concentrates on litigation work that can be pursued in state trial courts, federal district courts, and on appeal in federal appellate tribunals.
