M. Guy Maisnik is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1984. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Maisnik is a partner and vice chair of the Global Hospitality Group at Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP, a law firm located in Los Angeles, California. He has been practicing law for over 40 years, serving clients throughout California and beyond.
Mr. Maisnik earned his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, in 1984. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Santa Barbara, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1980. During his time at Loyola Law School, he was involved in various student organizations and activities, contributing to the academic community.
Mr. Maisnik concentrates his practice in the areas of hospitality law, real estate, and business transactions. He represents clients in matters involving hotel and resort development, management agreements, franchising, and acquisitions. His practice encompasses all stages of legal work, including negotiations, contract drafting, dispute resolution, and litigation in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Maisnik has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before various appellate courts in California. Prior to joining Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP, he worked as an associate at a boutique hospitality law firm in Los Angeles for several years.
Mr. Maisnik is an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the American College of Mortgage Lawyers, where he holds the title of Fellow. He is also a member of the American Bar Association's Forum on Franchising. Mr. Maisnik is fluent in English and conversational in Spanish, allowing him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
