About Gretchen Z.

Gretchen Z. Boger entered the law from a scientific mind. She earned a B.A. in Cognitive Science with an emphasis in Neurobiology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2002. That background preceded a J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2007, where she concentrated in trial advocacy. The combination of science and trial practice shaped her approach to evidence and courtroom presentation.

Her early legal work was in public service. After law school she worked as a post-bar paralegal at the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office in 2007 and then took on prosecutorial duties the same year. Those first positions exposed her to courtroom procedure and case preparation under trial pressure. She moved into family law practice in 2010 as an associate at The Moreno Family Law Office, where she handled matters typical to family courts and learned the procedural nuances of matrimonial litigation.

In 2013 she joined Lonich & Patton, LLP as an associate lawyer. The firm experience broadened her practice and client base. By 2018 she had become an equity partner at Lonich Patton Ehrlich Policastri. That step reflected a shift into firm leadership and the responsibilities that come with partnership: supervising cases, mentoring junior lawyers and managing client relationships alongside litigation work.

Boger holds certification as a Certified Family Law Specialist from The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. That credential denotes additional study and testing in family law and recognition by the board that a lawyer has met established standards in that practice area. She is licensed to practice in California and has been active in local bar activities. She has maintained membership in the Santa Clara County Bar Association since 2010, participating in the professional community there while handling family law matters in the state’s courts.

Her case work includes the typical portfolio of family law practice: contested divorces, child custody and support issues, and the financial aspects of marital dissolution. She draws on trial advocacy training when cases require courtroom appearances. Colleagues describe her as steady under pressure and thorough in discovery and hearing preparation.

Boger continues to practice in California at Lonich Patton Ehrlich Policastri, where her caseload remains centered on family law matters and related courtroom work, including contested hearings and settlement negotiations.
