About Gregory Michael
Gregory Michael Dell graduated from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law after entering the program in 1998 and earning his J.D. in 2000. He moved quickly into multi-jurisdictional practice, building a license portfolio that spans several states and federal venues. His legal education sits at the center of a practice that crosses state lines and court levels.
Early in his career he qualified to appear in a number of state bars and in federal courts. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Texas, New York, Massachusetts and Florida, and he is also admitted to the Federal Circuit. Those admissions reflect a practice that deals with both trial courts and appellate tribunals.
Courtroom work and appeals often require different tools. Gregory Dell has developed experience in both settings. He has handled matters that required filings in state capitals, in federal district courts and at the appellate level. That mix has given him a practical sense of how cases evolve from initial filings to motions practice and, when necessary, to appellate briefing.
Colleagues describe him as meticulous about procedural detail. He tends to approach filings the way an engineer approaches a drawing: precise and deliberate. That approach shows up in written work meant for judges and chambers. It also shows up in the way he prepares witnesses and structures a case record for potential review by higher courts.
Managing cases across multiple jurisdictions presents logistical challenges. Mr. Dell has had to coordinate differing rules, timelines and court cultures. He has navigated local rules manuals and federal practice guides in equal measure, and he is comfortable adjusting strategy to the demands of a particular forum. The Federal Circuit admission gives him access to a specialized appellate docket when matters implicate federal questions handled by that court.
He works from a nationwide headquarters office that supports practice across state lines. His work today continues to involve filings in both state and federal courts and the preparation of appellate briefs where appropriate. He currently focuses on representing clients in matters pursued across the jurisdictions where he is admitted, handling litigation and appeals in state and federal forums.
