About Gregory J.

Gregory J. Prickett built a career that crosses law and law enforcement. He completed his law degree at Texas A&M University in 2014 after earlier studies at Excelsior College, where he earned a B.S. in Political Science and Sociology and an A.S. in Liberal Arts. Those academic steps set a practical tone for his work. He combined classroom study with courtroom exposure early on.

He spent parts of 2013 and 2014 working inside the Tarrant County legal system. While still in law school he served as a legal intern with Tarrant County Judicial Staff Counsel and later with the Tarrant County Criminal District Lawyer’s office. He also clerked for the 371st District Court in Texas. Those positions put him close to day-to-day court procedure and trial preparation. They also gave him firsthand experience handling motions, witness interviews, and the rhythms of criminal dockets.

After passing through those public-sector roles he entered private practice. In 2015 he became a founding member of Malonis & Prickett Law, PLLC. He has practiced there since, handling matters that arise across Texas. His track record is grounded in courtroom work. He regularly appears before judges and juries and handles pretrial hearings and plea negotiations.

Prickett’s background extends beyond the bar. He holds multiple certifications from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, including Master Peace Officer and several instructor credentials. He is a certified firearms instructor and a certified SFST (Standardized Field Sobriety Test) instructor and practitioner. Those qualifications reflect prior service and training in policing and they inform how he approaches evidentiary and procedural issues in criminal cases.

He is a member of the Texas Aggie Bar Association and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Those memberships link him to a network of lawyers who practice across the state. His peers describe him as someone who draws on practical courtroom experience and procedural knowledge when preparing cases.

Clients, colleagues and judges see him as a lawyer comfortable in a court setting. He moves between trial work and pretrial strategy. He also teaches law enforcement topics that intersect with criminal practice, such as sobriety testing and firearm safety. He continues to handle criminal matters and related legal work at Malonis & Prickett Law, PLLC.
