About Max
Max Smith built a layered academic foundation before he set foot in a courtroom. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Southwestern University in 2013. He followed that with an MBA from Texas Tech University the next year. He completed his legal training at Texas Tech University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2018. Those years produced a mix of historical perspective, business training, and formal legal education.
He moved into practice soon after finishing law school. By 2019 he was serving as the managing lawyer at T. Maxwell Smith, PLLC. The title reflects both a role in client work and responsibility for day-to-day firm operations. In that capacity he handles case intake, helps shape litigation strategy, and oversees the administrative side of running a small law office.
Smith is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. That dual admission means he regularly appears in state court and handles matters that proceed in federal court. He has applied his combined legal and business background to client counseling and case management. Colleagues say he brings an attention to procedural detail and an eye for how legal outcomes affect clients’ broader objectives.
His professional activities include memberships in bar and legal organizations since 2018. Those affiliations provide a forum for continuing legal education and professional networking. Within the office, Smith has responsibilities that range from supervising associate work to managing client communications. Running a small firm requires balancing litigation tasks with administrative duties, and he spends time on both fronts.
Outside the courtroom, his training in history and business informs how he frames issues for clients. The history degree sharpens research and writing. The MBA contributes to how he evaluates business records and client interests. The law degree supplies the tools to press those interests in court.
Today he practices through T. Maxwell Smith, PLLC. He represents clients in matters brought in Texas courts and in the Northern District of Texas. His current practice focuses on representing clients in state and federal courts in Texas.
