About Gregory Edward

Gregory Edward Tomczak earned his undergraduate degree in philosophy from Rutgers University–Camden in 1999. He continued his studies at The George Washington University Law School, receiving his J.D. in 2002. Those formative years gave him a grounding in legal reasoning and courtroom procedure, and they set the course for a practice oriented around trial work.

He is admitted to practice in both New Jersey and New York. Early in his career he worked at Ambrosio & Tomczak. That experience placed him in courtrooms regularly and exposed him to contested matters that required careful preparation and steady advocacy. Over time he transitioned to operating his own practice, establishing Tomczak Law Office, LLC and maintaining offices serving clients in New Jersey and New York.

Tomczak holds certification from the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Criminal Trial Lawyer. That credential marks a formal recognition of trial experience and skill under the state’s certification program. It informs how he approaches cases: an emphasis on courtroom readiness and an insistence on testing the government’s proofs when appropriate. He has handled arraignments, pretrial motion practice, jury selection and bench trials.

Clients encounter him in felony and misdemeanor matters, and in proceedings that range from early negotiations to full trials. He prepares witnesses, develops cross-examination strategies and drafts motions aimed at excluding evidence or preserving issues for appeal. He also deals with related court procedures such as post-conviction matters and sentencing advocacy when a plea is part of a resolution.

His practice style is practical. He explains risks and options plainly. He prioritizes the elements that matter to a case’s outcome and adjusts tactics when new facts appear. In both state systems he attends hearings and trials regularly, and he works with investigators, experts and family members when those resources serve a client’s interests.

Outside the courtroom his resume reflects steady legal training and work in institutions that emphasize trial practice. That background informs his work today. He operates his firm out of offices in New Jersey and New York and represents clients across both jurisdictions. He currently concentrates on criminal defense and trial representation in New Jersey and New York.
