About Greg T.
Greg T. Rinckey built a career that bridges private practice and military service. He holds an MBA from the State University of New York at Albany and earned his J.D. from Touro College in 1995. He also received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Hofstra University the same year. Those degrees shape the practical approach he brings to legal work.
Rinckey’s professional path moved between the courtroom, the boardroom and the military legal system. In 2004 he took on a leadership role as managing partner at Tully Rinckey PLLC. That same year he served as a Judge Advocate General in the United States Army. The two roles reflect different sides of his experience: firm management and military legal practice. He is admitted to practice in New York, the District of Columbia and New Jersey.
He is a long-standing member of several professional organizations. He has belonged to the New York State Bar Association since at least 1998 and holds membership on its Committee on Veterans. Local bar groups in Greene and Schoharie counties count him among their members. He is also part of the Judge Advocates Association and serves on an arbitration panel with the National Association of Securities Dealers. Those affiliations point to recurring interests across veterans issues, military law and dispute resolution.
Rinckey’s military service as a JAG officer gave him firsthand exposure to the legal problems service members face. His time in uniform informed later work at the firm level. In private practice he has overseen case teams and administrative matters tied to firm operations. The managing partner role has required balancing client work with business decisions and personnel oversight.
Outside the office he holds a PADI certification as an open water scuba diver. It’s a detail that surfaces in conversations and speaks to an interest beyond legal texts and filings. It also hints at an affinity for disciplined training and preparation.
Today he is part of Tully Rinckey PLLC’s leadership. He continues to maintain memberships in state and national legal organizations. He concentrates his practice on veterans benefits, military law and arbitration, and remains active in bar committee work and professional panels.
