About Grant L.

Grant L. Stratton earned his law degree from the University of Arizona in 2009 and returned to the same campus to complete an S.J.D. in 2012. The S.J.D. capped several years of study and signaled a sustained interest in the theory and structure of law. He emerged from graduate study with an academic grounding that many practicing attorneys do not pursue.

After completing his degrees, Stratton built a practice in Arizona. He is admitted in that jurisdiction and has worked largely in settings that emphasize negotiated solutions. Over time he gravitated toward processes that keep parties at the table and out of court when possible. His academic training informed that shift. It also shaped his approach to dispute resolution and client counseling.

Stratton holds a certification in Collaborative Law from the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. That credential formalizes skills in collaborative practice and the collaborative model’s protocols. Since 2017 he has been a member of the Southern AZ Collaborative Law Group, where he participates in a network of professionals who use structured negotiations to resolve family and civil matters. He also joined the Pima County Bar Association in 2015 and remains an active member of that local bar community.

Colleagues describe Stratton as someone who combines an analytical mind with procedural familiarity. He draws on scholarship when cases raise novel legal questions, and he relies on collaborative techniques when parties prefer to preserve relationships or control outcomes outside of litigation. He has experience drafting agreements born of negotiation and in supporting clients through the stepwise processes the collaborative model requires.

Stratton’s work sits at the intersection of legal analysis and cooperative practice. He spends time both behind the desk and across from tables where stakeholders are hashing out terms. His S.J.D. background gives him a framework for thinking about policy and precedent, while his collaborative training supplies practical tools for settlement work.

He continues to live and practice in Arizona, maintaining memberships in local professional organizations and participating in group efforts that promote collaborative dispute resolution. His present practice centers on collaborative law and related dispute-resolution processes.
