About Grant

Grant Dwyer studied philosophy and education before turning to law. He earned a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame in 1997, followed by an M.A. in Education from Bank Street College of Education in 2004 and an M.A. in Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago in 2006. He completed his J.D. at Notre Dame Law School in 2010.

He began his legal career in Miami-Dade, joining the Office of the Public Defender in 2010 as an assistant public defender. That role placed him in active courtroom work early in his career. He moved into private practice and in 2012 served as a trial lawyer with Hannon & Boyers, P.A. The following year he was identified as a trial lawyer for Grant Dwyer Law. He is also listed as a founding partner of Visas-USA.

Dwyer holds licenses to practice in Florida and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. His work has combined criminal defense experience from his public defender days with trial work in private practice. Memberships in professional groups include the Miami Dade Justice Association and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, both held since 2012, and the Notre Dame Alumni Association, where he has maintained membership since 1997.

Colleagues and clients have encountered him most often in courtroom settings. He has been described in filings and case work as a hands-on trial lawyer who handles arraignments, pretrial litigation and bench and jury trials. That practical courtroom orientation dates back to his first years in the public defender’s office and continued through his subsequent trial roles.

Outside of daily litigation, Dwyer’s resume shows ties to immigration-related practice through his role with Visas-USA, alongside the criminal defense work that has defined much of his career. He practices in state and federal venues in Florida and maintains active affiliations with local legal organizations.

He operates out of Grant Dwyer Law and maintains a presence in South Florida legal circles. He currently represents clients in criminal defense and immigration matters.
