About Gordon A.
Gordon A. Schaller earned his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1973 after completing a B.S. at Iowa State University in 1970. Those years set the stage for a long career in law. He moved from classroom to courtroom and office, carrying the technical training of a tax and estate lawyer into practice.
He is admitted to practice in Washington and before the United States Tax Court. Over the years he has been associated with Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP, where he has served as a partner and as the Office Managing Partner for the Orange County office. In those roles he handled both client matters and the administrative responsibilities that come with running a regional office.
Membership in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) is part of his professional profile. That affiliation aligns with his practice areas and places him among peers who concentrate on trust, estate and tax matters. He has worked on matters that intersect federal tax proceedings and estate planning, representing clients in contexts that require knowledge of tax court procedures and estate administration.
Colleagues and opposing counsel have encountered him in federal tax proceedings and in professional settings that demand attention to technical detail. His experience combining courtroom exposure with office leadership has informed how he approaches client matters. He has guided teams of lawyers and staff through complex filings, procedural deadlines and the managerial tasks of operating a law office.
Outside of firm responsibilities he has maintained professional ties to organizations that focus on trust and estate law. He has balanced casework with the demands of practice management. He currently practices at Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP, handling tax and estate matters.
