Gina M. Sgarlato is the managing partner of Sgarlato & Sgarlato PLLC, a law firm based in Staten Island, New York. With over 30 years of experience, she specializes in personal injury and medical malpractice cases. Under her leadership, the firm has become one of Staten Island's most respected legal practices. Ms. Sgarlato earned her Juris Doctor from St.
John's University School of Law in 1991. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College, obtained in 1988. Her extensive education laid the foundation for a successful legal career. Throughout her career, Ms. Sgarlato has handled a diverse range of cases, including personal injury, wrongful death, real estate matters, contractual disputes, guardianship proceedings, estate planning and administration, landlord-tenant disputes, and various financial issues. She has been instrumental in securing favorable settlements and verdicts for her clients.
In 2011, Ms. Sgarlato advocated for Staten Island students by filing a lawsuit against the New York City Department of Education, resulting in the restoration of school bus services for 7th and 8th graders. Her commitment to the community extends to regular court appointments as receiver, referee, guardian, and guardian ad litem. Ms. Sgarlato is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. She is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, New York State Bar Association, Richmond County Bar Association, and Staten Island Women’s Bar Association.
