About Ghazal
Ghazal Sharif built her legal foundation through a mix of classroom study and practical training. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Saint Mary’s College of California in 2009 and completed her J.D. at California Western School of Law in 2014. Her continuing education has included specialized instruction in impaired driving matters, such as the NHTSA DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing program and seminars on DUI rules and jury persuasion.
Her early years in the profession were spent in courtrooms and chambers. In 2013 she served as a law clerk at the San Diego Superior Court, handling research and draft opinions at the trial level. The following year she took a clerkship at the Fourth District Court of Appeal, where she worked on appellate briefs and contributed to legal memoranda.
Also in 2014 she moved into public service as a Deputy District Lawyer in San Joaquin. That role put her on the front lines of criminal prosecution and gave her frequent exposure to courtroom procedure and evidentiary issues. She later transitioned to private practice and in 2018 became a managing lawyer at The Kavinoky Law Office, supervising cases and mentoring junior attorneys.
In 2019 she founded The G Law Office and serves as its CEO. Around the same time she completed NHTSA standardized field sobriety testing training and attended seminars offered by the California DUI Lawyers Association and California Lawyers for Criminal Justice. She maintains memberships in the California Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, and the California DUI Lawyers Association.
Sharif’s practice centers on driving-under-the-influence matters. Her background includes time on both sides of the courtroom table: prosecutorial experience early in her career and later work defending clients. That combination informs how she prepares cases and litigates them. She has been involved in jury work and has pursued continuing education aimed at improving courtroom presentation and juror persuasion.
Her appellate clerkship experience also shapes how she approaches post-trial issues. She understands briefing requirements and the cadence of appellate review. Today she runs a practice that concentrates on DUI defense in California and handles matters in the Central District Court of California. She currently practices as the founder and CEO of The G Law Office, concentrating on DUI defense.
