George Michael Williams is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1984. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Williams is a partner at Ganzer & Williams, a law firm located at 1617 St. Mark's Plaza, Suite A, Stockton, California 95207. He has been practicing law for over 41 years, serving clients throughout the Stockton area and the broader San Joaquin County.
Mr. Williams earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, graduating in 1984. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Davis, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics and Business Management in 1979. During his time at UC Davis, he graduated summa cum laude and was a member of the collegiate football team.
Mr. Williams concentrates his practice in the areas of bankruptcy law, business law, real estate law, and estate planning. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy proceedings, business formation and disputes, real estate transactions, and the creation and administration of trusts. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Williams has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Joaquin, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. He has also appeared before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to founding Ganzer & Williams in 1987, he worked as an associate attorney at a law firm in Stockton for three years.
Mr. Williams is an active member of the San Joaquin County Bar Association and the California State Bar Association. He is also a certified bankruptcy law specialist through the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization, a designation he has held since 2009. Mr. Williams is fluent in English, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Stockton and the surrounding areas effectively.
