About George Jed

George Jed Chronic trained first as a student of politics and later as a lawyer. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Missouri–Columbia in 2000 and completed his Juris Doctor at Washington University School of Law in 2004. Those academic years set the stage for a career that crosses several state lines.

After law school, Chronic built a practice that spans multiple jurisdictions. He is admitted to practice in Minnesota, Missouri, Florida and Illinois. That range of admissions allows him to work on matters that involve clients, statutes and courts in more than one state. He has navigated the practical challenges that come with coordinating filings, deadlines and procedural rules across different systems.

Early in his career Chronic split time between courtroom work and counseling clients outside of litigation. He has experience preparing pleadings and filings, conducting legal research and advising on compliance issues. He also spent time developing strategies for cases that required cooperation among counsel in different states. Those efforts helped him refine an approach that balances procedural detail with attention to client objectives.

Chronic stays active in professional circles. He maintains current memberships in bar associations and other legal groups, where he participates in continuing education and professional programs. Those connections give him access to peer perspectives and updates on evolving law. He also draws on those networks when matters demand coordinated efforts across jurisdictions.

He currently practices at Maschka, Riedy & Ries. At the firm he works with clients whose matters benefit from admissions in several states. His work often requires drafting and reviewing documents, coordinating with local counsel, and managing the timelines that vary by court and jurisdiction. He approaches each file with an eye toward clarity in process and consistency in representation.

Outside the office Chronic’s background in political science informs how he frames legal questions and communicates options to clients. He emphasizes plain language and practical next steps. He currently focuses his practice on multi-jurisdictional matters across Minnesota, Missouri, Florida and Illinois.
