About George Anthony
George Anthony LaMarca built a legal foundation across three institutions. He earned a B.A. in political science and English from Southern Illinois University–Carbondale, completed his J.D. at Drake University, and pursued further study at Oxford University. Those academic stops are the earliest chapters of a career that moved quickly into courtroom practice and bar leadership.
Early on LaMarca settled into trial work. He rose through litigation ranks and now serves as a partner at LaMarca Law Group, P.C. Over the years he has tried cases in state and federal courts and maintained admissions that include Iowa, the Eighth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the United States Supreme Court.
Professional recognition follows a busy docket. LaMarca is board certified in medical malpractice by the American Board of Professional Liability Lawyers and holds board certification as a civil trial lawyer from the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is an Advocate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and carries an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. That directory has also listed him in its Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Club and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
LaMarca’s involvement in professional organizations runs deep and long. He has been associated with the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, now the American Association for Justice, and belongs to the American Bar Association. His connections in Iowa are longstanding: he has been part of the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association since 1970 and served as its president from 1993 to 1996. He is a member of the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers and has participated in the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America. He has also taken a leadership role in the International Network of Boutique Law Offices as a chapter president.
Those memberships map to a practice built around trial advocacy and plaintiff-side litigation. Colleagues note his trial credentials and his certification in complex areas such as medical malpractice and civil trial work. His courtroom work has extended across multiple jurisdictions, reflecting both regional practice and willingness to appear in federal appellate forums.
Today he is a partner at LaMarca Law Group, P.C., where his practice continues to center on civil trial litigation, including medical malpractice and serious injury cases.
