About Gary Martin
Gary Martin Hays earned his law degree from Mercer University in 1986 after completing a bachelor’s degree in political science at Emory University in 1982. He moved from academic study into a courtroom career in Georgia. That path has taken him through trials, depositions and thousands of client meetings over the years.
He began practicing law after finishing law school and has built a practice rooted in Georgia courts. Over four decades he has kept a steady presence in the state’s legal community. His work has been shaped by courtroom experience and long-term client representation rather than by short-term transactions.
Outside the courtroom he has been active in professional groups. He has been a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association since 1992. He also joined the Million Dollar Advocates Forum in 2001 and remains part of that organization. Those memberships reflect a long-running engagement with trial lawyers around the state and country.
Hays maintains a multi-office presence across the Atlanta metropolitan area and beyond. He sees clients and handles matters from offices in Duluth, Atlanta, College Park, Marietta, Gainesville, Lithonia and Conyers. The network of offices allows him to meet clients locally and to coordinate litigation across multiple venues when needed.
Throughout his career he has focused on courtroom litigation and civil suits that require trial work. He handles the preparation that goes into taking a case to a judge or jury. That includes fact development, witness preparation, motions practice and post-trial work when cases require it.
Peers and opposing counsel often note the practical, direct approach he brings to cases. He favors clear arguments and careful preparation. He has managed cases at different levels of the state system and has worked through the procedural and evidentiary issues trial lawyers face.
He continues to practice in Georgia and to handle civil litigation that requires courtroom advocacy. He sees clients from his offices in Duluth, Atlanta, College Park, Marietta, Gainesville, Lithonia and Conyers and remains active in the professional organizations he joined decades ago. He currently focuses his practice on trial litigation and civil claims in Georgia courts.
