About Garrett D.
Garrett D. Lee is a trial lawyer who moves between the courtroom and the conference room with equal ease. He read history and law in two very different parts of the country. He earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan–Dearborn, then took his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston.
Those classroom years led into a practice rooted in civil litigation. Lee has served as a partner at Mitcheson & Lee LLP. He later took on a firm leadership role as co-managing partner at Morgan & Morgan, where he shares responsibility for both case strategy and firm operations. The combination of partner-level litigation work and firm management has shaped how he approaches cases and mentors associates.
Lee is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and he is also admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He has handled matters across state and federal dockets, giving him familiarity with procedural differences and courtroom practice in multiple venues.
Professional associations have been a consistent part of his career. He is a current member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers. Since 2021 he has held a seat on the Boston Bar Association Council. He chairs the Massachusetts Joint Bar Committee for Judicial Appointments, a post he has held since 2022, where he participates in discussions about judicial selection and evaluation.
His committee work extends into specialty sections. He was co-chair of the Insurance and Tort Litigation Section of the Boston Bar Association from 2019 to 2021, and he served briefly as co-chair of the Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice Section in 2019. Outside the bar associations he serves as a director of the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts, a role he has held since 2017. He also serves as a director for the Northeastern University School of Law Boston Regional Alumni Chapter, where he has been active since 2016. Earlier in his career he served as president of BNI Platinum, Boston, from 2017 to 2018.
Colleagues and clients rarely know him for flashy headlines. They know him for steady courtroom preparation and an organizational approach to litigation. He balances casework, firm leadership, and a steady program of association service. He currently practices civil litigation, handling tort, personal injury, and medical malpractice matters, and maintains an active role in firm management and bar leadership.
