About Gail Schnitzer
Gail Schnitzer Eisenberg earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law in 2012 after beginning her legal studies in 2009. She came to law school following an undergraduate period that led her toward public and workplace law issues. The law degree set the stage for a practice that combines courtroom work, legislative engagement and community service.
Eisenberg began her legal career in settings that emphasized employment and labor matters. She is licensed to practice in Illinois and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Seventh Circuit, which enables her to handle both trial- and appellate-level federal matters. At Loftus & Eisenberg, Ltd she works as a lawyer handling litigation and client counseling. Her day-to-day work includes preparing pleadings, conducting discovery, and representing clients in hearings and trials.
Outside the courtroom Eisenberg has taken an active role in professional and civic organizations. She holds membership in the Illinois State Bar and serves on the administrative committee of the Jewish United Fund. Within the Decalogue Society of Lawyers she serves as Co-Chair of the Legislative Committee, a role that has her engaged in monitoring and responding to proposed legal and policy changes that affect lawyers and clients alike. Since 2021 she has participated on the board and in the Legislative Committee of the National Employment Lawyers Association, contributing to collective efforts on legislative priorities and bar initiatives.
Her civic involvement extends beyond bar groups. Eisenberg has been involved with Women Employed through its Quality Jobs Council and has taken part in the North Suburban Leadership Council of the March of Dimes. From 2017 through 2021 she served as a trustee for New Trier Township, a local public service role that brought direct contact with municipal governance and constituent issues. Those extracurricular roles have kept her connected to policy debates and community needs.
Colleagues describe Eisenberg as methodical in litigation preparation and thorough in legislative analysis. Her practice at Loftus & Eisenberg, Ltd gives her opportunities to combine individual client representation with broader policy work through bar committees and nonprofit boards. She is admitted in state and federal courts and uses those credentials in both trial and federal filings.
Eisenberg currently practices at Loftus & Eisenberg, Ltd, where her work concentrates on employment-related disputes, litigation in state and federal courts, and involvement in legislative and professional committees that shape practice standards and workplace law.
