About Gail

Gail Marcus began her academic journey at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she completed undergraduate studies in 1972. She went on to earn her J.D. from DePaul College of Law in 1979. That degree launched a legal career that spans more than four decades and crosses state lines and courtrooms.

Her admissions include the bars of Pennsylvania and New Jersey and she is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials allow her to represent clients in trial and appellate settings across state and federal forums. The combination of state and high-court admissions has shaped the contours of her practice and opened doors to a variety of matters over time.

Marcus has built a practice centered in Philadelphia. Over the years she has handled matters that required coordination across jurisdictions. She has maintained a steady presence in the regional legal community while also retaining the capacity to take on appeals or other matters that implicate federal law and nationwide issues.

Colleagues and clients have described her as pragmatic and attentive to the procedural aspects of litigation. She places emphasis on preparation and on understanding the statutory and procedural framework that will govern a client’s matter. Her approach tends to prioritize clarity in legal strategy and careful management of deadlines and filings.

Outside the courthouse, Marcus has engaged in the sorts of legal work that lawyers do to keep cases moving: research, drafting, and courtroom preparation. She has navigated matters that bring together state law questions and federal procedure, and she has experience coordinating filings in multiple jurisdictions when cases demand it. Her long tenure in practice gives her familiarity with court personnel and local rules in Philadelphia and elsewhere in the region.

She maintains an office in Philadelphia and represents clients in matters arising under Pennsylvania and New Jersey law, as well as in proceedings that may reach the federal courts or the U.S. Supreme Court. As of 2026 she concentrates her practice on matters arising in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and cases presented to federal tribunals.
