About Gabrielle J
Gabrielle J White grew up studying management and law before settling into a legal career in Missouri. She earned a B.S. in Management from Missouri State University and later a J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law. Those degrees provided a practical base for work that blends legal analysis with client service.
Her early legal work began at McKay Law Offices, LLC, where she joined as an associate in 2001. Four years later she became a partner at McKay & White, LLC, a role she has held since 2005. The move marked a shift from being a junior member of a small practice to sharing responsibility for running and shaping a firm.
White’s professional memberships track a steady interest in elder and estate matters. She holds active membership in the Missouri Bar Association and has been a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Missouri Academy of Elder Law Lawyers since 2016. Local involvement includes the Greene County Estate Planning Council, where she has participated since 2012.
Community engagement has been a recurring thread in her career. In Springfield she has served on civic boards and councils. She was an alternate on the City of Springfield Board of Adjustment from 2012 to 2013, then served as a commissioner on the City of Springfield Planning & Zoning Commission from 2013 to 2015. She has been involved with the Friends of the Garden for many years, including a term on its board from 2009 to 2011 and continuing service on its advisory council beginning in 2012.
Outside professional and civic organizations, White has joined local business networks such as the Springfield Business Builders Club, where she has been a member since 2011, and B2B Business to Business networking beginning in 2016. These memberships reflect an interest in the practical aspects of running a practice and connecting with other professionals in the region.
Her practice draws on both management training and legal education. Colleagues describe her as steady and pragmatic in handling matters that require careful planning and clear communication. She combines courtroom and office work when cases demand it, and she regularly advises families and individuals on planning and long-term care considerations.
She currently maintains her practice in Missouri and focuses her work on elder law and estate planning.
