About Fredd
Fredd Haas earned his J.D. from Drake University Law School in 1979. He entered the legal profession after graduation and built a career centered on courtroom work and professional association involvement. Colleagues have known him for steady participation in bar groups and trial lawyer circles over many years.
He served as president of the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association from 1997 to 1998 and later returned to help lead its educational efforts as co-chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee. That leadership came after years of hands-on practice and committee work. He also holds membership in national organizations, including sections of the American Bar Association that focus on negligence and insurance and on law and economics.
Haas’s professional affiliations extend into specialized fields. He belongs to the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the American College of Legal Medicine, and he participates in groups that address traumatic brain injury and workers’ compensation. Those memberships indicate regular engagement with injury, insurance and medical-legal issues. He has handled matters that intersect medicine, policy and liability, and he has worked alongside other trial lawyers on case strategy and trial preparation.
Beyond casework, Haas has taken on roles that shape the profession’s broader conversation. He serves on the Trust Board of Justice for All Pac and continues to take part in committee efforts within the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association. His CLE work has involved organizing educational programs for lawyers in the state and helping to frame seminar topics that reflect evolving legal doctrines and practical courtroom techniques. Peers cite his long-standing willingness to participate in committee work and educational programming as a steadying influence in local legal circles.
Now in practice more than four decades after receiving his law degree, Haas remains active in litigation and association affairs. He handles matters that touch on civil litigation, insurance disputes, negligence claims and workers’ compensation issues. He currently concentrates his practice on civil litigation, including negligence, insurance disputes and workers’ compensation matters.
