About Frank L.

Frank L. Hollander earned his Bachelor of Science at the University of Florida in 1981 and stayed on at the same university to receive his Juris Doctor in 1985. His education at Florida placed him in a large state bar and court system at a formative moment in his career. Those years established the academic foundation he relied on as he entered public service and private practice.

He began his legal career as a judicial clerk, a role that exposed him to the mechanics of courtroom decision-making and opinion drafting. After the clerkship he served as a prosecutor. That prosecutorial work gave him courtroom experience on the government side and an understanding of case preparation under pressure. He later moved into private practice, where he has combined trial and appellate work.

Hollander is admitted to practice in Florida and before several federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, the D.C. Circuit, the 11th Circuit and the Federal Circuit. Those admissions reflect a practice that reaches beyond a single courthouse. He is also active in professional groups. Current memberships include the American Association for Justice (formerly ATLA), the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He belongs to local and regional bar organizations, including the Broward County Bar Association and the Miami-Dade County Bar Association, and he is a member of the National Lawyers Guild.

Across his career he has occupied roles on both sides of the aisle: one who once prosecuted cases now represents clients in private practice and has argued matters in trial and appellate settings. That combination of experiences — clerkship, prosecution, and civilian practice — gives him a breadth of perspective on litigation strategy, evidentiary issues and appellate briefing. He has taken part in cases that require navigation of state rules and federal procedure.

He practices under the name Law Offices of Frank L. Hollander, also listed in some records as the Law Office of Frank L. Hollander. His current work involves litigating and briefing matters in state and federal courts, including appellate courts and the U.S. Supreme Court.
