About Frank Gaynor

Frank Gaynor III built his legal foundation at Union College, where he studied political science and graduated in 1969. He went on to earn a law degree from Boston College in 1973. Those years shaped his early view of law as a public institution and a tool for orderly dispute resolution.

After law school he entered public service. In 1976 he served as an assistant attorney general in Massachusetts. The role placed him in the middle of state legal work and gave him courtroom and advisory experience on issues affecting the Commonwealth. By 1977 he had become a member of the Massachusetts State Bar, a professional affiliation he still holds.

In 1980 he opened the Law Office of Frank Gaynor. He has worked there as an attorney since then. The office represents clients in matters arising under Massachusetts law and handles a range of civil matters. Over decades of practice he moved from the structure of a government office to running a private practice, a transition that changed his day-to-day work but kept the same legal skills at its core.

His early career in the Attorney General’s office informed his approach to litigation and client counseling. The experience gave him an understanding of how state agencies operate and how statutory and regulatory issues are handled in practice. In private practice he has drawn on that background when advising clients on compliance and dispute resolution.

Colleagues and clients from different eras describe him as steady and pragmatic. He has maintained ties to the Massachusetts legal community through continuous bar membership since 1977. That ongoing participation keeps him connected to changes in state rules and local practice.

Gaynor’s career spans more than four decades. He practiced at the Law Office of Frank Gaynor beginning in 1980 and continued to be active in Massachusetts law as of 2026. His work has combined courtroom appearances, written advocacy, and client meetings, often on matters governed by state law.

Today he remains based in Massachusetts and practices under the name he established in 1980. He continues to accept matters in the Commonwealth and to advise clients on legal issues arising under Massachusetts law, concentrating his current practice on civil matters in the state.
